After two years of captivating performances, Adele has officially wrapped her “Weekends with Adele” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The Grammy-winning singer performed her final show on Saturday night, delivering heartfelt messages to her fans and loved ones while reflecting on the significance of this chapter in her life.
Balancing Music and Motherhood
The decision to perform a residency stemmed from Adele’s desire to balance her career with being a present mother to her 11-year-old son, Angelo. Speaking directly to the audience, she explained, “I chose to do a residency because I f–king hate touring, but I also did it to keep [Angelo’s] life normal. And I did do that.”
Though emotional about the residency’s end, Adele expressed excitement about returning to weekends with her son. “Thank you for being patient with me,” she said through tears.
Support from Rich Paul and Full-Circle Moments
Adele also gave special thanks to her fiancé, Rich Paul, for his unwavering encouragement during emotionally draining periods. “Thank you for always bigging me up and making me feel like I could do whatever I wanted to do,” she shared, adding a laugh: “I still need to be treated like a baby panda.”
One of the residency’s most memorable moments came in October 2023 when Adele’s idol, Celine Dion, attended her show. “It was such a full-circle moment for me,” Adele said. “That’s the only reason I ever wanted to be in here.”
The Journey of “Weekends with Adele”
Adele’s residency began in November 2022, following delays after she postponed the original launch in 2021 due to concerns about the show’s quality. Once underway, she extended the residency twice, performing to packed audiences through November 2024.
Despite the challenges, the residency proved deeply fulfilling for Adele. “This is exactly what I needed for this season of my life,” she said, acknowledging the dedication it took for fans to travel to Vegas to see her perform.
What’s Next for Adele?
Though she remains passionate about singing, Adele hinted at an extended hiatus to explore other creative pursuits. “I don’t have any plans for new music at all,” she said in an earlier interview. “I want a big break and to do other creative things.”
She also candidly admitted her discomfort with fame. “I don’t like being famous. I love that I get to make music all the time,” she told fans, adding that she’s uncertain when she’ll perform again.
A Tearful Goodbye to Fans
Adele ended her residency with a heartfelt farewell, thanking fans for their understanding and unwavering support. “I’ll miss it terribly, and I’ll miss you terribly,” she said. “I just don’t know when I want to next come on stage, but I love you.”
While her next steps remain uncertain, Adele assured fans that she would return eventually. For now, she’s focused on savoring the quieter moments in life, cherishing time with her family, and contemplating what her future holds.
