Houston-based occult heavy rock band Warlung have officially announced their upcoming album, The Poison Touch. Set for release on February 14th via Heavy Psych Sounds, the record marks the follow-up to 2022’s Vulture’s Paradise. The new album promises to push deeper into atmospheric territory while maintaining the band’s signature gritty, doom-laden sound.
A Haunting New Chapter
The Poison Touch promises an immersive experience for listeners, combining hard-rocking energy with hauntingly beautiful melodies. According to the band, the album is designed to deliver raw power while exploring themes and tones that evoke a cinematic, otherworldly feel.
To give fans a taste of what’s to come, Warlung released a new music video for the song 29th Scroll, 6th Verse, which premiered via Doomed & Stoned.
About the Song:
The band describes 29th Scroll, 6th Verse as an “ode to classic sci-fi” and a warning against the destructiveness of human nature. Inspired by Planet of the Apes lore, the song interprets the sacred scriptures of the Law Giver in a heavy, doom-infused style.
